Multi-Faith Transgender Day of Remembrance 2015
Twilight People is honoured to host this year’s multi-faith TDoR event on 20 November 2015.
Observed annually on November 20th, Transgender Day of Remembrance was established as a day set aside for remembering the lives of those gender non-conforming individuals who were viciously murdered for being themselves.
We will be creating a spiritual space open to people from ALL faith backgrounds. You are warmly invited to participate in a ceremony of contemplation and breath.
We encourage you to bring along a personal memorabilia item to place on the ‘table of remembrance’ . This could be a poem, photo, sacred object or similar that holds a memory for your journey of loss and transformation. Theme: Twilight.
Date/Time: Friday 20/11/2015, 6-7pm
Venue: Centenary Bldg, Northampton Square, London EC1V 0HB, UK
Please RSVP via facebook (if possible): https://www.facebook.com/events/836608059787548/
Please note: this ceremony takes place from 6-7pm before the main TDoR event (7.30pm, same building). Main event details: https://www.facebook.com/
For all those who can’t make it, we recommend lighting a candle and reading out a prayer, for example The Twilight People prayer by Rabbi Reuben Zellman
We encourage other people of other faiths to submit their prayers and dedications. Thank you.
