ARCHIVE SKILLS TRAINING – INTRO
– Workshop Content:
Intro – how to prepare an oral history/memorabilia collection for deposit (digital and physical items):
1) LMA archive behind the scenes tour
2) what is archiving? Archiving ethics
3) intro LGBT oral history collections
4) intro: the depositing process eg cataloguing
exclusive, small group, sessions run by senior archivists & in-house experts, hands-on; attendance certicifate on request
For all those who attended this INTRO session, we offer the possibility of further training and hands-on follow-up sessions with LMA/archive professionals & volunteers (make use of the TP buddy system ‘learning by doing’. Have a chat with us about this any time.
Our ‘free’ training is open to all existing volunteers and those who have a bit of time to spare between August and October 2016 to help us create the TP collection at LMA, contact us here:
